It includes actual notes and coins and also any deposits which can be quickly converted into cash. There are different measures of the money supply. Looking forward, we estimate Money Supply M3 in Euro Area to stand at 14900000.00 in 12 months time. In the long-term, the Euro Area Money Supply M3 is projected to trend around 14900000.00 EUR Million in 2021 and 15900000.00 EUR Million in 2022, according to our econometric models. M3 includes everything in M2 as well as time deposits larger than USD 100,000, balances in institutional money market funds, and term repurchase agreements. It is considered the broadest measure of the money supply. Again, for clarification, it should be noted that some countries (e.g., UK) report M4, a similar, but not quite identical measure to M3.

A very broad measure of the domestic money supply that includes M2 items plus any large time deposits and money market fund balances held by institutions.
